New ITCR Funding Opportunity Announcements (FOAs) Released

Four new ITCR Funding Opportunity Announcements (FOAs) have been released. These are:

PAR-15-334 “Development of Innovative Informatics Methods and Algorithms for Cancer Research and Management” (R21)

PAR-15-332 “Early-Stage Development of Informatics Technologies for Cancer Research and Management” (U01)

PAR-15-331 “Advanced Development of Informatics Technologies for Cancer Research and Management” (U24)

PAR-15-333 “Sustained Support for Informatics Resources for Cancer Research and Management” (U24)

The first application due date is November 20, 2015.

Selecting the Right FOA

For early-stage development including initial development (prototyping) and modification of existing methods for new applications to target specific cancer research problems, select one of the revision FOAs.



    For early-stage development at the prototyping and hardening stages to have a broad impact in cancer research, select the UO1 FOA.


    For advanced development at the enhancement, dissemination, and maintenance stages, select the U24 FOA. To qualify for a U24 project, the applicant should provide evidence of the development status of the existing software that is the subject of the proposal. This could include at least one of the following: a pointer to a running hosted instance of the software; a mechanism to install and evaluate the software locally, such as binary files, a virtual machine, or source code with appropriate instructions; a pointer to a comprehensive description of the current software package and its functionality, including user instructions; one or more peer-reviewed publication(s) showing significant results obtained with the proposed software.
